If this is happening right now

A knocked-out adult tooth
Pick it up by the crown, never by the root. If it is dirty, rinse it briefly with milk or saline, not with tap water and not with soap. If you can, put it back in the socket and hold it there. If you cannot, keep it in milk or in your own saliva and call us immediately. Time matters more here than in any other dental emergency.
A broken or chipped tooth
Rinse with warm water. Use a cold compress on the outside of the face to control swelling. Keep any fragment you find, in milk or saline.
Severe pain or swelling
Call us. Swelling that spreads toward the eye or the neck, difficulty swallowing or breathing, or fever alongside dental pain are reasons to go to an emergency room rather than wait for a dental appointment.
A lost crown or filling
Keep the piece. Avoid chewing on that side. This is usually urgent but not dangerous, and it is often solved in a single visit.

What counts as a dental emergency

Not everything that hurts at eleven at night needs to be seen the next morning, and not everything painless is safe to leave alone. A tooth that reacts to cold for a few seconds and settles is different from a tooth that throbs on its own and wakes you up. Pressure that builds over days, a bad taste that keeps returning, or a gum that swells and drains and then swells again usually mean infection, and infection does not resolve by waiting.

If you are unsure, call and describe it. Someone will tell you whether it needs today, this week, or a regular appointment. That call costs you nothing.

What happens when you arrive

The first goal of an emergency visit is to get you out of pain and to make the situation stable. Diagnosis, a radiograph where it is needed, and treatment of what is urgent happen the same visit.

What comes after is a separate conversation. If the tooth needs a crown, an implant or something more involved, you will be told what the options are and what each costs, and you will decide when you are not in pain. Nobody is asked to approve a treatment plan while an anesthetic is still working.

Frequently asked

Do I need to be an existing patient?

No. Emergency appointments are open to new patients.

Do you take insurance for emergency visits?

We accept most PPO plans and file claims on your behalf. Our coordinator checks your benefits and explains any balance before treatment begins.

What if it happens on a weekend or at night?

Send a message on WhatsApp and it will be seen when we open. If the situation involves spreading swelling, difficulty swallowing or breathing, or a fever, go to a hospital emergency room without waiting.

Can a knocked-out tooth really be saved?

Sometimes, and the chances drop quickly with every hour that passes. Keep it moist, do not scrub the root and call immediately.

Can you treat me in Spanish?

Yes. The doctors and the front desk team work in English and Spanish.

In pain right now?

Call us and describe what is happening. We will tell you whether you need to come in today.
