Most people do not wake up one morning and decide they want veneers. It builds slowly. A chip from years ago that you stopped noticing in the mirror but still see in every photograph. Bonding that looked good for two years and then stained at the margins. What all of that has in common is that it treats one variable at a time. Porcelain veneers work differently, because shape, length, color and alignment of the front teeth are designed together, as one result.
What porcelain veneers can and cannot do
Veneers are thin layers of porcelain bonded to the front surface of the teeth that show when you smile. They correct shape, length, color, small gaps and minor rotations, and they do it in a few visits rather than over months.
They are not the answer to everything, and it matters to say so. Veneers are a cosmetic result built on a healthy foundation. If there is active gum disease, untreated decay, a bite problem that is wearing your teeth down, or crowding significant enough that porcelain alone cannot correct it, that comes first. Sometimes that means aligners before veneers. Sometimes it means treating the cause of the wear before rebuilding what the wear took.
If your case is one of those, you will hear it at the consultation, even when it is not the answer you were hoping for. Porcelain placed over an unresolved problem does not last, and a result that does not last is not a result.

Consultation and digital design
Photographs of your face and your smile, a 3D scan, and a conversation about what you want changed. Dr. Cynthia builds the design from your facial proportions, not from a catalog of shapes.

Your trial smile
The design is placed over your teeth as a physical trial smile. You talk with it, smile with it and photograph it. Anything that does not feel like you gets adjusted before it exists in porcelain.

Preparation and temporaries
Once the design is approved, a conservative amount of enamel is shaped, and temporaries that match the approved design are placed. You leave with a smile, not with a gap in your schedule.

Placement
Two to three weeks later the porcelain is bonded and polished, and the final adjustments are made with you sitting up, seeing your face the way other people see it.

The trial smile is the part patients remember. It turns an irreversible decision into a reversible one, because everything that can be discussed is discussed while the change is still temporary. You see the length, the shape and the way your lip sits over the edges in your own mouth, in your own face, in your own photos, before any commitment is made.

How many veneers do I need?
It depends on how many teeth show when you smile and where the color and shape need to change. Some cases involve six upper teeth, others ten, and others only two. The number comes out of the design, not out of a package.
Do veneers damage your teeth?
A conservative amount of enamel is shaped so the porcelain sits flush instead of bulky. For suitable cases, minimal-preparation options reduce that further. The amount removed is part of your plan and is explained before anything begins.
Will they look fake?
Porcelain is layered to reproduce the translucency of natural enamel, and the shape is designed from your facial proportions rather than from a standard template. The trial smile exists precisely so you can judge this yourself, before the porcelain is made.
How long do porcelain veneers last?
Longevity depends on your bite, your hygiene and whether you grind your teeth. During your consultation Dr. Cynthia will tell you what to expect for your case and what will shorten or extend it.
Can I get veneers if I grind my teeth?
Often yes, but grinding has to be addressed as part of the plan, usually with a night guard and sometimes with a bite adjustment. Porcelain placed under an untreated grinding habit is porcelain placed at risk.
Do you offer no-prep veneers?
For suitable cases, yes. Whether your case is suitable depends on the position, size and color of the teeth you already have, and it is determined at the design stage.
